Photography Locations in Omaha & Lincoln, NE: Where We Shoot and When

Every session we plan starts with the same question: where? After years of shooting in Omaha and Lincoln, NE, these are the spots we keep coming back to, what each one is good for, and when it's at its best.

Why Omaha and Lincoln Photograph So Well

The range is the surprise. Downtown Omaha gives you brick and cobblestone in the historic Old Market; twenty minutes the other direction you have open prairie outside Lincoln.

That's more variety than most metro areas twice the size. We rarely have to travel far to match a backdrop to the people in front of the camera.

Top Locations in Omaha, NE

  • The Old Market: Cobblestone streets and brick facades. Our first pick for urban portraits and engagement sessions.
  • Lauritzen Gardens: An oasis of floral beauty. It carries wedding portraits and family sessions equally well.
  • Standing Bear Lake: Water reflections at sunset, and worth timing a session around.

Hidden Gems in Lincoln, NE

  • Sunken Gardens: Consistently ranked as one of the best gardens in the country, this spot provides stunning floral displays that change every season.
  • Pioneers Park Nature Center: With tall grasses and rustic trails, it's a top choice for couples and families wanting a natural, earthy vibe.
  • Haymarket District: Similar to Omaha's Old Market but with its own distinct charm, the Haymarket is fantastic for commercial and lifestyle photography.

Beyond Nebraska

We're based in Omaha and shoot most weeks somewhere between the Old Market and the Haymarket. A few times a year we pack the kit for destination work out of state, and being centered in the Midwest makes either coast an easy reach.

Planning a Session?

If you're shooting in Omaha or Lincoln, we know these locations down to the hour the light gets good. If you're planning one somewhere else, we travel. Either way, the first step is a date.
